The Most Ignorant Governor in America?

I wonder if Governor Manchin of WVA, in fact, deserves the title "The Most Ignorant Governor in America"?

Please read this Yahoo! new story, especially his quote:

Governors Try To Advance Clean Energy

"Anybody can talk and beat up coal: They don't like it; it's dirty; it does this and this," said West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin, a Democrat and chairman of the association's natural resources committee. "But I can assure you, they're not going to turn their lights or their demand for energy off."

Join us in showing Governor Manchin that we don't want his dirty electricity and that we have the will to change our consumption patterns to make coal pollution unnecessary.   The people in WVA deserve the chance to develop their state's economy around a blend of CLEAN, renewable energy: SOLAR, WIND, GEOTHERMAL.

(1) Turn off the lights.

(2) Swap your incandescent bulbs for compact fluorescents.

(3) Switch to a Green Power producers, such as  Green Mountain Energy.

(4) If you can't switch, buy Traded Renewable Energy Certificates (See how they work).

(5) Write to your federal representatives urging funding for research and development of renewable energy resources around the country.

(6) Send Governor Manchin's office an email, letting him know that his comments have helped motivate you to change your electricty consumption patterns, and that he grossly underestimates the desire of Americans everywhere to evolve the next generation of clean, renewable energy sources.

UPDATE:  I should have included a mention that Governor Manchin is also the Governor who had family members of school children arrested and dragged away from his offices when they protested the fact that he refuses to fund the relocation of Marsh Fork Elementary School in Naoma, WV.    Here is the link to the video on You Tube.

Could this have something to do with Massey Coal's campaign contributions to Governor Manchin's election campaign?  Support Pennies of Promise and help get these kids a new school.
